Project 365 – Day 23

01 Jun

Another question… Why is it on the wedding day, it’s the bride’s day? Why can’t it be the groom’s day? If not, then will there be ever a groom’s day? Father’s day and Birthday not included. 🙂 LOL.

Something to think about.

***My goal is actually inspire myself and others through my photos.***

It is the bride’s day because if you guys planned it, we would be in a sale rack frock, the reception have big screen TVs playing the game you would otherwise be missing and we would be toasting with beer. Silly guy!

This is a lovely photo. You have such a great POV when you photograph.

My thoughts.. The wedding day celebrates the union of two “individuals” becoming one. For me, I believe the day provides the opportunity for the bride to display her magnificence and glory as a single woman one last time. Because from the wedding day on, she will be one with her husband. Both have their personalities, preferences, opinions, etc, but they are now one. All that they do is done together. She enters a new season as wife, help-mate. If the couple decide to have children, she enters the season of motherhood. As the years continue, she enters new seasons and transitions into different roles as wife, mom, sister, aunt, best friend, caretaker, grandma, great grandma, etc. In the midst of these seasons, she is very much her individual self, yet at times her individuality is put on the back burner to provide and supply the needs of others. As God in Genesis created woman from the rib of man, she is joined in union as one with him in marriage. She no longer stands alone, but she stands together with her husband as one. Her individuality is displayed on how she responds to the seasons she enters..

Either way, the wedding day is all about the bride and every day of the marriage is about the bride.. Did I answer the question? haha..
